So what's with your cheeky new look, Carol?

By SIMON NEVILLE

Different look? Stunning Carol Vorderman last year, left, and yesterday, right, but a friend told the Mail her fuller features are down to make-up

Her hourglass figure and glowing complexion are what usually turn heads.

But this week in London, it was Carol Vorderman’s fuller features that were instead drawing attention.

The 50-year-old looked almost unrecognisable compared with photos from last year, as she stepped out of ITV’s London studios on a chilly afternoon.

Perhaps the onset of colder weather was playing havoc with her skin, or a new type of make-up was responsible for her puffier-cheeked appearance.

Nevertheless, the Loose Women panellist, 50, managed to keep a smile on her face as she stepped out of the central London studios where she had been filming an ITV1’s daily show Loose Women on Wednesday afternoon.

With temperatures in the capital falling, Miss Vorderman – who is currently single - wrapped up in a thick woollen cardigan, polo-neck black top and casual denim jeans.

Explaining the star’s change of appearance, a friend said yesterday: ‘Carol has always had high cheekbones and any change is down to make-up.’

However, Bernadette Harte, Non-Surgical Training Manager at The Harley Medical Group, contended: 'Looking at pictures of Carol Vorderman from 2010 compared to recent pictures of her, it is clear that her face appears much fuller and smoother in appearance especially around the cheek area.

'A fuller, more lifted cheek is something that can be achieved by having dermal fillers injected into the cheek area. I would suggest that rather than undergoing surgery, she may have had dermal fillers in the cheek bone area.

'However, with much of her face looking much fuller than it did previously, it may be that Carol has simply put on weight.'

The former Countdown co-host’s figure has received numerous compliments and accolades over the years, including being named Rear Of The Year in June – beating off competition from the Duchess of Cambridge’s younger sister Pippa Middleton, 28.

In an interview back in 2007, Miss Vorderman said she would never consider going under the surgeon's knife to obtain a flawless complexion.

She said at the time: 'Age doesn’t bother me. You get to a point where you realise you’re never going to be perfect, but you deal with it. I’m happy with my appearance and very comfortable in my skin.

'I find people’s obsession with age funny. I’m not up for plastic surgery. I think if you do anything on your face you’re taking a risk. I’ve still got my wrinkles.'
